In northern France, our estate car rentals are available at many locations, including Nord Pas de Calais, Normandy, Picardy and Brittany. You can collect your vehicle on arrival at Calais, an entry point for many visitors from the UK, but before heading straight down to the sun of the south take time to explore the cities of Lille and Arras, which fascinate with their fantastic Baroque architecture and Gothic Cathedrals. Drive to the region of Lorraine and the 18thth century town Nancy, or to the region of Champagne-Ardenne, known for its champagne and wine production. In Normandy you will discover a beautiful region with a spectacular coastline around Cherbourg, the small island of Mont Saint Michel, the cities of Rouen, Le Havre and the vibrant beach resort of Dieppe. Travel west to Brittany and the town of Rochefort-en-Terre, officially one of the most beautiful villages in France. Explore the prehistoric stones and monuments of Carnac and discover Brittany’s many picturesque islands.
In the west of France, visit Nantes, the capital city of the Pays de Loire region, whilst further inland in the Central region you will find the Châteaux of the Loire Valley. In the famous wine-producing region of Aquitaine lies the city of Bordeaux, sitting pretty on the banks of the Garonne River as well as the picturesque vineyards of the Dordogne area. In the far southwest region of Midi Pyrénées, you can hire one of our estate cars in various locations across Toulouse. This region is formed of plains and mountains, stretching from the Massif Central in the northeast to the Pyrénées in the south, and is a popular winter ski destination.
The city of Lyon is a must, and is a great base for adventures into the Rhone region and for skiing trips in the Alps, as well as being regarded as the gastronomic capital of France. From here, you can drive south towards the French southern coast, passing through the pretty town of Aix-en-Provence in Provence, before you make your way down to the French Riviera and the cities of Nice, Marseilles, Cannes and Monaco. The Côte d’Azur is a major tourist destination and renowned as a playground for the rich and famous.
Last but by no means least, there is Paris. Collect your estate car on arrival at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), Paris Gare du Nord and many other Paris locations, and tour the Eiffel Tour, the Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame and the Louvre. Take a romantic stroll beside the River Seine or the historic district of Montmartre, before exploring some of the nearby attractions including the Palace of Versailles and Disneyland Paris. Wherever your travels in France take you, you are bound to fall in love with the history, food, beauty and charm of this wonderful country.
