Experience the Magic of Mexico

Mexico is a country of diverse cultures, wonderful food, passionate people and a history of ancient civilisations. The landscape ranges from the beautiful coastline of Baja California, the cactus filled deserts of the north and the Mayan villages and gorgeous beaches of the south. Situated south of the United States of America and north west of Guatemala and Belize, Mexico is one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations, and despite its close proximity to the US and its connections with the Spanish-speaking world, Mexico remains a truly unique country.

Mexico’s vast coastlines include the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west. In northern Mexico is the peninsula of Baja California, where you will find some of the country’s most dramatic coastal landscapes. Begin your tour of Mexico here, driving across the border from San Diego in the US or flying directly into Los Cabos International Airport (SJD), close to the resort of Los Cabos at the southern end of the peninsula, or Tijuana-General Abelardo L. Rodríguez International Airport (TIJ), located 6km from the city of Tijuana, where you can collect your estate car on arrival. A highlight of Baja is the annual grey whale migration, visible between December to April, as well as the areas famous cave-art and the wonderful beach towns of Bahia Concepcion, Loreto and La Paz.

Northern Mexico, across to the east, is largely barren desert, though there are fascinating archaeological remains to be found, including the significant ancient ruins of Paquime. The cities of Durango and Chihuahua are also worth visiting, with grand colonial architecture mixing with contemporary culture, whilst Monterrey is a city that attracts a young, cosmopolitan crowd. Travel further south into the historic silver-mining region known as The Bajio, where you will find much architectural evidence of the Spanish rule, and is an area that was crucial in the push for independence from Spain, particularly in the towns Dolores Hidalgo and Queretaro. Visit the sophisticated cities of Zacatecas and San Luis Potosi, as well as the wealthy town of Guanajuato, whose fine buildings and museums are the result of riches gained from the silver industry.

From The Bajio, you can drive your estate car into Central Mexico and the capital, Mexico City, located within Mexico State. Spend time in Mexico City, a colourful and entertaining city that is both edgy and enticing. Also known as D.F (Distrito Federal), it is a huge city that is divided into boroughs that include the Centro Historico, the entertainment district of Zona Rosa and upmarket Polanco. Explore the palaces and cathedrals of Downtown Mexico City, visit the National Museum of Anthropology or relax in Chapultepec Park, a 6km park in the centre of the city and home to many of Mexico City’s visitor attractions. If you are flying into Mexico City, you can pick up your vehicle at Benito Juarez International Airport (MEX) and explore Central Mexico at your leisure, including the cities of Puebla and Taxco, both with fine examples of colonial architecture.

MexicoThe southern Pacific Coast is the place to head to for tropical beach resorts, with the famous Acapulco being the largest and most popular of them all, whilst on the Yucatan Peninsula, in the south east of Mexico, you will find fascinating Mayan temples in an area that is at the heart of the Mayan culture, as well as the Caribbean coast resorts of Cancun and Chetumal. Mexico is a wonderful country, and benefits from an excellent road system which means you can enjoy the freedom to explore at your leisure with your Mexico estate car rental.

Rent an Estate Car

An estate car or station wagon is an ideal rental car in Mexico when you need room for 5-7 passengers with place for luggage. Built on the sedan/saloon model, with the roof extended at the back for additional cargo space and often with an extra row of folding or removable seating, this is a great family car and perfect for road trips or travelling with children and dogs. Whether you are looking for an affordable family car or a luxurious executive model, there are a wide range of Station Wagons available to suit your needs.

Hire a Small Family Station Wagon

Estate cars don’t have to be huge, so if you are looking for a smaller estate, such as a manual five seater Ford Mondeo Station Wagon or the Volkswagen Passat Station Wagon, you will enjoy the benefits of a vehicle, larger than a hatchback, which will still fit easily into your garage. The manual Citroeon C5 Tourer comes with fitted with a sat nav and offers comfort with air conditioning and the latest safety features; an ideal rental car in Mexico for large families, sports equipment or those travelling with a lot of luggage.

Rent a Premium Estate Car in Mexico

For a larger more luxurious estate car to hire in Mexico, you could choose an Audi A4 station wagon diesel, popular for its handsome looks, powerful engine and athletic performance, whilst the automatic BMW 5 Series Estate is also a strong executive tourer with generous space for passengers and their luggage. The Mercedes E Class station wagon is a luxurious choice for a large estate with excellent suspension, refinement and a huge boot, as well as lots of leg and headroom and folding seats for additional storage space.

Hire a 7 seater Station Wagon

Sometimes you need the flexibility to choose between extra storage space and additional passenger seats. Estate cars often have a folding third row of seating for carrying an additional two passengers, so if you are looking for a large 5+2 estate rental in Mexico, you could choose a 7 seater Chrysler Voyager for safe and secure family vehicle or the smart Peugeot 307 Wagon (with Sat Nav), ideal for vacations with large families and friends.

Manual, Automatic and Diesel Estate Car Rental in Mexico

Some drivers prefer the ease of an automatic transmission estate car, whilst others feel more in control behind the wheel of a manual station wagon. Whatever your preference, we have the ideal car for you, including the manual transmission Skoda Octavia estate for a great family car hire and the executive Mercedes C Class Automatic Stationwagon with optional GPS. If you are trying to keep your costs down, a diesel engine will save you money in fuel costs, and the stylish diesel Hyundai i40 Tourer is a powerful estate with a large boot space.
