From Milan, it is just a three-hour drive, via Verona, to Venice. Driving a car in Venice is not possible for obvious reasons, but there are plenty of parking opportunities outside the city. Venice is a city to be explored on foot or by boat, and you can enjoy hours of wandering alongside canals, relaxing in glorious piazzas such as St Marks Square, or taking a ride on a Gondola. The city of Bologna is also well worth a visit, not least for its wonderful collection of paintings by famed local artist Morandi.
